Top 5 Must-Buy Frozen Treats/Items from Donki (Don Quijote) Japan below 100 Yen
If you’ve been to Don Quijote (also Donki), you’re probably singing the Donki song in your head right now. ๐ If you haven’t been or heard of Donki before, well it’s about time to plan a visit to the biggest chain of discount stores in Japan that sells just about everything. Although the glory of the vast selection of great value has been faded slightly by my almost daily excursion to this store, it still is a glorious collection of whatnots. So from time to time I will post something I just hoarded from the store just like this list of my top 5 must-buy frozen treats/Items from Donki Japan below 100 yen!
Pino Ice Cream Bites
Today this treat sells for about 70 yen. Mind you, this costs more than a hundred in convenience stores so IT IS DEFINITELY A STEAL. These are tiny cup-shaped ice creams covered with chocolate. Their size lets you can eat conveniently with your fingers. I call them ice cream candies! ๐
Morinaga MOW Ice Milk, Cream Cheese
The MOW brand is pretty cheap and sells at 88 yen (regular price) in Donki and you can have them in almost any flavor (green tea, vanilla, choco, etc.) and this is also above 100 yen in some convenience stores. When I am craving for ice cream and I am on a budget, I go for this. Although, I can say that it tastes a little too artificial. Then again, I don’t expect cream cheese to sell cheap so compromises have to be made. ๐ After all, it’s classified as an ice milk, not ice cream.
YAWAMOCHI ICE
This treat gives you traditional Japan in three layers of goodness: Tsubuan (red bean) milk ice topped with sweet red adzuki bean paste topped with chewy lovely mochi. My favorite out of all the others here. It comes in Macha flavor, too. Below 100 yen. ‘Nuff said.
Akagi Black Cacao Ice
If you think every icy treat is supposed to be drenched in sugary sweetness, this dessert is going to give your senses a surprise. Claimed to contain 10x as much cocoa, you’ll feel cocoa’s bitterness and richness from this treat. A must have for black chocolate fanatics. Or when you simple feel like ๐ท but still craving for an icy treat.
Morinaga Cheese Stick
Another cream cheese ice cream treat because, why not?! Tastes like cheesecake with an ice cream texture on a lighter side. Conveniently shaped like a stick so you can enjoy it while waiting for your train or just simple lounging around. First in the list to go from the freezer to my stomach. Almost forgot to take a picture!
So these are my top 5 cheapest icy treats below 100 yen from Donki. Do you have yours? Hit us up in the comments section below! ๐๐
